A devastating fire tore through a cluster of wooden structures late last night, claiming the lives of four individuals, including three children. The incident occurred at a residential area, with the fire reported at 11:28 p.m. (2328 hours).
According to ADO1 Bright Nana Sarfo, the Public Relations Officer of the Devtraco Fire Service, emergency crews were alerted to the blaze at 11:28 p.m. and arrived on the scene 19 minutes later, at 11:47 p.m. (2347 hours).
Firefighters worked swiftly to bring the fire under control by 12:31 a.m. (0031 hours) and fully extinguished it by 12:55 a.m. (0055 hours).
The fire, which engulfed multiple wooden structures used as homes, completely destroyed at least 10 dwellings.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
Tragically, four people were confirmed dead in the blaze. The victims included a 14-year-old girl, an 11-year-old boy, a 2-year-old boy, and a 27-year-old man.
Investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of the fire. Fire officials urge residents in the area to exercise caution and ensure proper fire safety measures are in place.
