The Member of Parliament for Ejura Sekyedumase, Alhaji Dr. Bawa Braima Mohammed, has urged newly recruited Prison Service Assistants and Community First Medical Responders to demonstrate professionalism and commitment in the discharge of their duties.
He gave the charge during the commissioning of 90 recruits under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in the Ejura Sekyedumase Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The recruitment exercise, carried out in collaboration with the Ghana Prisons Service and the National Ambulance Service, saw 55 Prison Service Assistants and 35 Community First Medical Responders commissioned to support security and emergency healthcare delivery in the municipality.

The recruits are expected to be deployed to facilities including the Ejura Camp Prison, where they will assist in custody, welfare and rehabilitation services, as well as emergency response operations within the municipality.

Addressing the recruits, Dr. Bawa Braimah Mohammed congratulated them on their selection and encouraged them to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in them by government.

“Go out there and make government proud,” the MP said, while assuring the recruits of his continuous support and advocacy for youth employment initiatives in the constituency.
He highlighted the potential for permanent employment opportunities for beneficiaries who demonstrate discipline, competence and commitment during their service period.
The Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal Director of the Youth Employment Agency, Adongo Samuel, also commended the recruits and said the initiative forms part of YEA’s broader mandate to create jobs for the youth while strengthening national institutions.

He explained that the Prison Assistants Module is a YEA initiative designed to support the Ghana Prisons Service, while the Community First Medical Responders are trained to assist the Ambulance Service in providing prompt emergency care.
Mr. Adongo added that the programme contributes to national security, public safety and healthcare delivery, particularly at the community level.
Dr. Bawa Braiwa Mohammed further disclosed that he is advocating for expanded technical and vocational skills training programmes to complement such employment initiatives and equip young people with sustainable skills.
The commissioning forms part of ongoing government efforts to reduce youth unemployment while enhancing security and emergency response capacity nationwide.
