Gabby Asare Otchere Darko, cousin to President Akufo-Addo and relative to Secretary to the President Nana Asante Bediatuo, has condemned rumors surrounding Nana Asante Bediako’s alleged demise.
On his Facebook page, Otchere Darko described the hatred fueling these rumors as “deep and scary.” He emphasized that wishing death on others is “devilishly debased” and urged people to stop spreading falsehood.
“The hatred is deep and scary. To wish a fellow human being dead and be disappointed he is still alive is devilishly debased.” “Rumours will kill you long before your death. It is not true. Stop spreading falsehood!”
Otchere Darko’s statement echoes Aristotle’s wisdom that hatred cannot be cured by time, unlike anger. “Anger, says Aristotle, can be cured by time; but hatred cannot”.
Meanwhile, the office of the President has issued a statement signed by Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin stating that “He is currently in a stable condition and responding well go treatment. According to the medical team, Nana Asante Bediatuo’s recovery is on track, and we remain hopeful for his swift return to full strength”.
The statement also reveals that Nana Asante Bediatuo began to feel unwell after the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York in the United States of America and was subsequently admitted to hospital.
The Office of the President urged the populace for a continued prayers and support for Nana Asante Bediatuo and his family during thus difficult period.
