The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially congratulated the Republican Party and President-Elect Donald Trump following their victory in the 2024 U.S. elections.
The NPP emphasized this win as a strong endorsement of Republican ideals by the American electorate.
The party also praised the U.S. for its peaceful electoral process, highlighting lessons Ghana can learn as it approaches its own elections on December 7, 2024.
“The NPP also congratulates the United States of America for chalking yet another significant milestone in its democratic credentials following the peaceful conduct of the elections. America has, once again, shown the way, and we, in Ghana, have some useful lessons to learn from this American example, particularly as we prepare to go to the polls on December 7, 2024.”
The NPP noted its longstanding ties with the Republican Party, sharing similar political ideologies and symbols.
NPP expressed hope that, like the U.S., it will achieve success in the upcoming polls, drawing parallels between Trump and Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, who both advocate for bold solutions.
“It is our fervent hope that just like the United States, Ghana’s “elephant party”, will also emerge victorious in the December polls, by the grace of God. This is so, particularly because, both President Trump and H.E.”
The statement signed by the General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua stressed that it’s party looks forward to strengthening relations between the two parties and nations under the incoming administrations.
“We wish the Trump administration the very best in their tenure of office as the incoming Bawumia administration, by God’s grace, hopes to build on the already fruitful relationship between the two political parties and nations for mutual benefits.”
