Eric Amoako Twum, spokesman for NPP presidential hopeful Dr. Bryan Acheampong, contends that former Vice President and 2024 flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has no business track record to lead the NPP to victory in 2028.

In an interview with Ezra TV monitored by Kumasimail, Twum stressed that the 2028 general election is a must-win for the opposition party, but emphasized that the path to victory lies with Dr. Bryan Acheampong as the sole candidate.

Twum asserted, “The reality is that we are going into the 2028 election that we want to win.”

When pressed on whether Bawumia’s time has passed, he replied emphatically, “Oh yes! It is about the future of this political party. Do we want to back the trend?”

He argued that elections come down to numbers and that there exists a plan to clinch victory in the country.

According to Twum, Acheampong brings both public and private sector credibility.

“If you have Dr. Bryan Acheampong who has the academic qualifications and public sector experience, Dr. Bawumia has those as well, but Bryan has business credentials and the acumen for everyone to appreciate in terms of job creation in the private sector.”

Twum added that Acheampong is “an individual that ticks all the boxes” and is a true party man capable of mobilizing the grassroots for the election.
