The Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, recently led a delegation from Ghana to Jamaica to explore new educational partnerships between the two nations.
Invited by Jamaica’s Ministry of Education and Youth, the visit focused on establishing a framework for recruiting skilled Ghanaian teachers to support Jamaica’s expanding education system in the Caribbean. Dr. Adutwum emphasized that the discussions aimed at creating a mutually beneficial collaboration that upholds the highest standards of educational excellence.
During their visit, the delegation toured several schools in Jamaica, where they were impressed by the infrastructure and innovative teaching methods. “These experiences have provided us with valuable insights as we work to enhance our education system in Ghana,” Dr. Adutwum remarked.
He further noted that the visit laid a strong foundation for a promising partnership that will not only strengthen ties between Ghana and Jamaica but also enrich the educational experiences of students and teachers in both countries.
Expressing his gratitude to the Jamaican government, Dr. Adutwum praised their warm hospitality and the efforts made to ensure that the visit was both productive and welcoming.
The partnership is expected to bolster STEM education and contribute to the overall enhancement of educational practices in both Ghana and Jamaica.
