A controversy has emerged within the Igbo community in Ghana, raising security concerns over the kingship of one Eze Ohazurume I.
President of All Nigerian Community in Ghana in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Martin Okafor Chukwudi strongly denies any wrongdoing with the the said king.
Describing Eze Ohazurume I as self-acclaimed King, Chukwudi admonished members of the Association and Ghanaians public to stop recognize anyone as Igbo King in Ghana.
“He’s not our king. We hear that someone is parading himself as the king of Igbo community in Ghana. Infact, we have not install any king in Ghana.
“For us in Ashanti Region, our king is Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and apart from him, we don’t recognize anyone as our king. I’ll ask everyone especially Ghanaians to stop doing business with him in his capacity as the King of Igbo community.”, Chukwudi said at a press conference in Kumasi.
This clarification comes after social media reports suggested that 50 acres of land had been secured by Eze Ohazurume I to build Igbo community Village in Ningo.
According to the Chukwudi, these reports are false and stem from an old interview granted to Crystal TV in 2012, following the alleged coronation of Eze Ohazurume I.
