Ghana and China have pledged to deepen security cooperation following a high-level bilateral meeting between the Ministry of the Interior and China’s Ministry of Public Security in Beijing earlier this week.
Leading the Ghanaian delegation, Interior Minister Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak described the engagement as a significant step toward enhancing collaboration in law enforcement, counter-terrorism, crime prevention, and public safety management.
He noted that Ghana’s diplomatic ties with China date back to the country’s independence, stressing that the visit reaffirmed both nations’ commitment to building stronger institutional partnerships.
The minister highlighted plans for greater capacity building, technological exchange, and joint efforts to tackle transnational security challenges.
China’s Public Security Minister, Wang Xiaobong, praised Ghana’s dedication to global peace and acknowledged progress made by both countries in contributing to international security.
Officials said the talks set the stage for a renewed era of cooperation, drawing on historical friendship while opening new pathways for mutual growth and stability.
