Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has held discussions with the Chief Fire Officer of the Netherlands, Johan Tuitert, aimed at enhancing Ghana’s capacity to respond to fire outbreaks, particularly in market areas.
The meeting, which took place in Accra, formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration and improve fire safety systems across the country. Ghana’s Chief Fire Officer, Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, was also present at the engagement.

According to the Interior Minister, the discussions focused on opportunities for partnership, including training initiatives and the exchange of best practices to bolster the effectiveness of fire prevention and response mechanisms nationwide.
He подчеркed the importance of continuously building the capacity of Ghana’s security services in line with evolving global technologies, noting that such collaborations are critical to addressing recurring fire incidents.
Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak expressed appreciation to the Dutch delegation for the partnership, adding that the engagement is expected to yield practical recommendations to help safeguard lives and protect livelihoods.
