The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, as part of ongoing mediation efforts to resolve the dispute that led to the closure of the Ho Central Mosque.
The mosque was shut following a disagreement within the Muslim community over the appointment of an Imam, raising concerns about peace and cohesion in the area.

According to the Interior Minister, the visit to the National Chief Imam followed an earlier engagement with a delegation of chiefs, imams and elders from the Ho Muslim community.
The delegation, led by Mr Mohammed Adams Ijor-Inda, Wulensi Saha Naa I, had earlier paid a courtesy call on the Minister at his office in Accra to brief him on the situation.

Alhaji Muntaka said he urged the delegation to exercise restraint while mediation efforts continue, stressing the need to avoid any actions that could undermine peace and security in the Ho municipality.
He commended the National Chief Imam for his leadership and commitment to fostering unity, expressing confidence that his intervention would help bring about a peaceful resolution to the impasse.
The Interior Minister reiterated government’s commitment to maintaining peace and religious harmony across the country as dialogue continues among all stakeholders involved.
