A Kumasi based Journalist and human rights advocate Isaac Nsiah Foster is recovering from serious injuries after being stabbed during a confrontation with a commercial bus conductor over a fare dispute.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening after Foster boarded a white TD minibus, with registration number GW 2333–10, at the Airport Roundabout.
According to the victim, a disagreement broke out when the conductor refused to return 50 pesewas in change.
The situation escalated, and upon reaching his destination near Buokrom Estates junction, Foster was violently attacked.
The journalist alleges that the conductor, the driver, and another unidentified accomplice assaulted him with sharp objects, stabbing him in the thigh as he attempted to defend himself.
Foster, who also serves as a paralegal and director of human rights at the Africa Liberators and Economic Institute (ALEI), is known for his recent investigative work, including a report on the arrest of Ibrahim Kayaba, a high-profile fugitive listed among West Africa’s most wanted.
Following the assault, Foster sought to file a complaint at two police stations but claims he was met with resistance and demands for a bribe before a CID officer would be assigned to the case.
The incident has sparked concerns about police professionalism in the Ashanti region.
