Economic woes: Admit mistakes and apologise to Ghanaians – Ken Agyapong tells NPP

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s campaign team has established an Anti-Election Rigging Response Squad to avert any alleged plot to rig the upcoming NPP Presidential Primary.

The Campaign Team of Kennedy Agyapong believes there are plans to manipulate the election in favour of a particular candidate.

Some prophets have indicated to us that if the election is conducted in a free and fair manner, Ken Ohene Agyapong will emerge the winner, but they caution us to put in place strict measures to stop any rigging.”

Director of Elections for the Kennedy Agyapong Campaign Team, Joojo Rocky Obeng, says the Anti-Rigging Response Team, operating in all 276 constituencies, will work to protect the ballot for Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

“Our leader, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, sent a strong signal to all stakeholders that no one should attempt rigging this election. We have set up this Response Team to enforce his command and desire for a free and fair election. So this is to ensure that nobody rigs the elections—we mean nobody.”

He further added, “If this election is free and fair, Kennedy Agyapong will win, we know that, but to protect the integrity of the polls, we need to ensure that the right things are done.”

Delegates of the NPP will head to the polls on January 31, 2026, to elect a flagbearer who will lead the party into the 2028 general elections.

Five candidates are currently campaigning for the flagbearer slot:

Former Vice President and 2024 Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Former Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum
Former Agric Minister, Dr. Bryan Acheampong and Former General Secretary of the NPP, Kwabena Agyapong.
