In a passionate speech to Ghana’s youth, Kwame Owusu Danso, Vice-presidential candidate of the Afrafranto Alliance, called for a bold rejection of the current state of affairs, urging young Ghanaians to seize control of their future.
“We cannot continue to accept leaders who prioritize their own interests over the well-being of the people they are meant to serve,” he asserted. “We cannot remain cursed by our own natural resources. We cannot keep suffering from the plague of Galamsey, which threatens our very survival.”
Speaking at his official unveiling in Accra, Mr. Owusu Danso vividly highlighted the challenges facing Ghana’s youth, including rising unemployment and a deteriorating economy. He voiced solidarity with thousands of graduates struggling to find job opportunities, calling this situation a betrayal of the nation’s future.
“Today, basic necessities like food and fuel have become luxuries for many households,” he lamented, blaming this hardship on years of economic mismanagement.
Mr. Owusu Danso warned that the youth must not remain passive while the country’s future is put at risk. He urged young Ghanaians to rally behind the Movement for Change and support Alan Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan, which promises job creation, industrialization, and an inclusive economy.
“This is not the Ghana we deserve,” he concluded. “It’s time to rise and be counted. Our future is at stake, and only we, the youth, can secure it.”
