Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga announced that the Caucus will spearhead rigorous inquiries into the management of COVID-19 funds, the controversial Agyapa Royalties deal, and the $190 million Power Distribution Services (PDS) scandal.
These issues according to him have long raised public concern over potential mismanagement and misuse of state resources.
“There must be consequences for brazen plunder of public resources,” Ayariga declared before the House, underscoring the urgent need to address systemic corruption.
“The gravest danger to our democracy is impunity,” he warned, drawing attention to the risks posed by unchecked malfeasance.
He also noted that Parliament will demand regular updates on the activities of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), particularly regarding the staggering $20 billion in financial crimes currently under review.
Ayariga criticized the previous administration’s reliance on sole-sourced contracts, promising a comprehensive review of procurement practices to restore public trust.
“This is not about revenge,” Ayariga stressed. “It is about restoring integrity and justice to public finance management.”
The Majority Caucus also aims to hold the Office of the Special Prosecutor accountable, signaling a robust approach to anti-corruption efforts.
Ayariga announced that Parliament will adopt U.S.-style committee hearings to unravel systemic corruption, emphasizing that the House “will not stand idle while public funds are looted with impunity.”
