The New Patriotic Party (NPP), Parliamentary candidate for the election 2024 in Manhyia South constituency, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has lodged a formal petition with the Electoral Commission (EC) concerning over 1,000 voter transfers, which he claims were orchestrated by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to the petition, submitted under the provisions of C.I. 91, the transferred voters allegedly do not reside in the Manhyia South constituency, raising concerns about the legitimacy of the transfers.
The case was heard in court on September 20, 2024. After initial proceedings, the court adjourned the matter to September 24, 2024, when a ruling on the petition is expected.
The outcome of this case could have significant implications for the upcoming elections in the constituency.
