The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has released 25,000 bags of fertiliser for distribution to 413 educational institutions under the Feed Ghana Programme to support Minor Season crop production across the country.

The initiative, according to the Ministry, is aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring sustained food and nutrition security through school-based farming.

Beneficiary institutions include primary, junior high, and senior high schools that have registered under the national Feed Ghana Programme.

A statement from MoFA said the fertiliser distribution forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional farming and promote hands-on agricultural training among students.

“The Deputy Feed Ghana Coordinator in charge of Institutional Farming has been directed to ensure the immediate distribution of the fertiliser to all beneficiary schools and institutions to facilitate timely application and achieve the desired impact,” the statement noted.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to providing agricultural inputs and technical support under the Feed Ghana Programme — one of the key components of the Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda (AETA).

MoFA said it remains focused on empowering educational institutions to contribute to national food security while nurturing the next generation of agripreneurs.
