Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, is currently the frontrunner in the race to become the party’s National Chairman, according to a recent poll conducted by Global Info Analytics.
The survey, released on August 21, 2025, highlights Boadu’s prominent position as the party gears up for its highly anticipated primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The poll, which surveyed 2,656 NPP delegates with 2,560 completing all questions, indicates that John Boadu commands 32% support among party delegates.
This positions him comfortably ahead of his closest rival, Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Bernard Antwi Bosiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, who garnered 23% backing.
Other candidates in the running include former Chieftaincy Minister Asamoah Boateng, who polled 6%, as well as former Roads Minister Kwasi Amoako-Attah and Edward Boateng, each receiving 2% of delegate preference.
Despite Boadu’s lead, a significant proportion of delegates remain undecided, with 34% yet to commit to a candidate. Additionally, 1% of respondents indicated they would support an alternative candidate not listed in the survey.
The poll was conducted over a nine-day period from August 12 to 20, employing computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) across 263 of the 276 constituencies.
It boasts a high confidence level of 99% and a margin of error of ±2.44%, lending strong credibility to its findings.
