Former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Member of Parliament for Abetifi, and a leading figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bryan Acheampong, has made it clear that he is not entering the party’s presidential race just to observe or experiment.
He says his mission is simple. He is running to win and take power.
“I’m not here to test the waters. I’m here for power,” Mr Acheampong boldly declared, showing his determination to lead both the party and the country.
Mr. Acheampong made the statement while addressing party supporters, where he outlined his vision for Ghana’s future.
He stressed that he has the experience, strategy, and energy to take the NPP to victory in the 2026 general elections.
His declaration comes at a time when several top NPP members are preparing to contest the flagbearership. But Acheampong says he stands out because he is not just participating for fun or recognition he is in it to lead.
