Election 2024: NPP will ensure vigilance – Chief of Staff
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Chief of Staff, Akosua Fremah Osei Opare, has assured supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the party will activate all necessary structures to ensure vigilance and protect their votes in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Speaking to traders at the Kumasi Race Course Market, she explained the need for heightened vigilance to avoid the mistakes of past elections, particularly the 2012 polls, which led the NPP to challenge the results in the Supreme Court.

Reflecting on the party’s past experiences, Madam Fremah Opare said, “Our lack of vigilance in 2012 cost us dearly, and we learned from that. This year, we are more determined than ever to protect every single vote.”

She reminded party members that the NPP’s vigilance since then has been key to safeguarding the credibility of the party’s electoral outcomes and urged supporters to ensure no lapses occur.

She called on all NPP members and supporters to “cover all grounds” in their respective electoral areas, emphasizing that the party cannot afford to be complacent.

The Chief of Staff also underscored the need for credible elections, aligning with ongoing calls from the Electoral Commission for transparency and fairness in the electoral process. “We must do everything we can to ensure that the upcoming elections are free, fair, and credible, and that includes remaining vigilant at every step,” she stated.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, Fremah Opare pointed to the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy as one of the flagship programs that has significantly benefited Ghanaians. She noted that the initiative has positively impacted nearly every household across the country, helping ease the burden of education costs for many families.

“We have made great strides, and the Free SHS policy is just one example of how the NPP is improving the lives of Ghanaians. Retaining the NPP in power will ensure that we continue to improve and build on these policies,” she said.

Madam Fremah Opare also took the opportunity to charge party members to intensify their campaign efforts ahead of the December elections. She encouraged them to work tirelessly in their communities to secure the party’s victory, emphasizing that the party’s success depends on the collective efforts of its supporters.

“We must all enhance our campaign efforts in these final weeks. The work you do in your communities will make the difference on election day. Let’s work together to retain power and continue delivering for the people of Ghana,” she urged.

As the 2024 elections approach, the NPP, like other political parties, is placing significant emphasis on vigilance and electoral integrity, particularly given the lessons from past elections.

With the party’s strong focus on protecting its votes and building on its governance record, supporters are being called upon to ensure the party’s victory in the polls.
