The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye, has refuted claims made in a letter circulating on social media, which he says is falsely attributed to him.
In a statement issued Thursday, Abronye described the letter as a “mischievous fabrication” and “unintelligent propaganda,” distancing himself entirely from its contents and authorship.
“I wish to categorically state that this unintelligent and poorly crafted release did not and could not have originated from my office,” he said. “It should be treated with the utmost contempt it deserves.”
He further accused three individuals of orchestrating the document’s circulation: Maxwell Mahama, a suspended former party member; Amankwaa Agyare, who he alleges claims to be the Bono Regional Coordinator for the Kennedy Agyapong campaign; and Maxwell Osei Bonsu.
Abronye referred to the trio as “avowed enemies,” adding that the language and tone of the letter reveal what he termed their “malicious intent.”
“It is laughable that a letter supposedly written by my good self is being distributed by individuals who are well known for their opposition to me,” he added.
