The workshop aimed to sensitize youth volunteering groups in the Wenchi Municipality on the National Youth Policy.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to streamline and coordinate the efforts of these groups, aligning them with the objectives of youth development.
The event brought together various groups, including QUEEN BEE EXECUTIVE CLUB, the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA), and the Ghana Federation of Persons Living with Disabilities, among others.

Madam Lydia Sefa-Mawusi, Bono Regional Director of the National Youth Authority, speaking to media practitioners after the workshop, explained that volunteering keeps individuals in regular contact with others and helps them develop a solid support system. This, in turn, protects them against stress and depression during challenging times.
She emphasized the need to promote volunteering in society to foster development. The Bono Regional Director of the NYA further stated that the Authority is taking steps to bring identifiable groups together to ensure that their activities contribute meaningfully to the implementation of the National Youth Policy.
She also noted that the initiative is a collaboration with France Volunteers Ghana, an organization dedicated to promoting volunteerism, and added that the partnership has been instrumental in bringing groups together, facilitating coordination, and fostering partnerships.

She encouraged various youth groups in the Bono Region to register under the Authority to enable them to maintain a comprehensive database and ensure that volunteer efforts align with national objectives.
On his part, Volunteering Development Officer at France Volunteers Ghana, Fofogan Doku, said France Volunteers Ghana is the French platform for international exchange and solidarity volunteering, operated by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
He pointed out that the platform brings together the French government, local authorities, and associations in a mission of general interest—promoting international volunteering for exchange and solidarity.
He also highlighted that currently, about 36 Ghanaians are benefiting from the volunteering exchange and solidarity program in France and underscored the importance of the collaboration with the NYA.
Some of the participants expressed their gratitude to the NYA and France Volunteers Ghana for organizing the training workshop at Wenchi. They were optimistic that the program would help them acquire more skills to support their livelihoods.
