Activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has taken a swipe at Ghanaians who have been engrossed in ongoing public debates surrounding highlife legend Daddy Lumba’s alleged marital issues.
In a post shared on his Facebook page on Monday, Barker-Vormawor criticized the level of attention being given to the matter, likening the public’s back-and-forth discussions to a “cantata.” He suggested that individuals channel their concern inward rather than focusing on celebrities’ private affairs.

“You dier be there and be debating Lumba’s marital issues back and forth, like it’s some cantata,” he wrote. “If I were you, I will start talking to lawyers to see if my own marriage is even a marriage.”
His comments come amid heightened social media discussions and conflicting accounts related to Daddy Lumba’s personal life. The musician has not publicly commented on the renewed scrutiny.
Barker-Vormawor’s remark has generated significant reactions online, with many users interpreting it as a critique of the country’s fixation on celebrity controversies. The post gathered dozens of comments and shares within minutes of publication.
