The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with other security agencies, has arrested Mr. Daniel Adomako, popularly known on social media as “Sir Obama Pokuae,” over alleged illegal possession and display of sophisticated weapons.
According to a police statement issued on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, the arrest forms part of ongoing intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks involved in the illegal possession of arms.
The police said Mr. Adomako is assisting with investigations into images and videos he allegedly shared on social media, which showed individuals brandishing prohibited weapons.
“These operations, which have been ongoing for several weeks, have led to the significant retrieval of a substantial number of illegal arms and ammunition,” the statement read.
In a related development, three other suspects Prince Ofori, Yayra Abiwu, and Emmanuel Kwayke are also in police custody in connection with threats of death and the publication of false news following a recent helicopter crash.
The Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety and security by rooting out criminal elements and preventing the proliferation of illegal arms.
It also urged the public to provide credible information to support ongoing investigations.
“Further updates will be provided as investigations progress, strictly adhering to due process,” the statement concluded.
