President John Mahama has called for an immediate investigation into the deaths of eight Ghanaians during the 2020 and 2024 general elections.
In a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, and addressed to the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the President emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and their families.
“To maintain public trust and ensure transparency, we kindly request periodic updates on the progress of the investigation. This will help to keep stakeholders informed and assure the public of your commitment to uncovering the truth,” the letter stated.
The move aims to build confidence in the nation’s justice system and provide closure to affected families while fostering accountability in the handling of election-related incidents.
