The children of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, on thursday 23rd October 2025 paid a visit to the Jubilee House to formally inform President John Dramani Mahama of their mother’s passing.
Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, and her brother, Kimathi Rawlings, were seen leaving the Jubilee House after the meeting, which formed part of the customary process of officially notifying national leaders about the death of a prominent public figure.
Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, who served as Ghana’s First Lady from 1981 to 2001, was the wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.
She was also the founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement and later the National Democratic Party (NDP).
The visit by her children follows widespread tributes from across the political spectrum, honoring her lifelong contribution to women’s empowerment, social development, and Ghana’s political history.
Further details regarding funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in due course.
