The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially commenced the nomination process for its 2026 presidential primaries, with the nomination window opening today, July 29, 2025, and set to close on August 28, 2025.

This announcement was made through an official statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong.

According to the statement, the nominations are in accordance with Article 13(1)(2) of the NPP Constitution, inviting party members interested in contesting the party’s presidential flagbearer position for the 2028 general elections to apply.

Nomination forms are available at the party headquarters located in Asylum Down throughout the nomination period.

Aspiring candidates are required to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of 100,000 Ghana Cedis via bankers draft payable to the NPP Headquarters in Accra.

Additionally, a filing fee of 500,000 Ghana Cedis must be paid, also via bankers draft to the same.

There is also a development fee to be paid as determined later by the party’s National Council.

The presidential primary election, which will select the party’s candidate for the 2028 presidential race, is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
