The management of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, has strongly condemned comments attributed to lawyer and media personality Miss Serwaa Amihere, which allegedly described the school as a “breeding ground for homosexuals.”
In a statement issued on Saturday, January 17, 2026, the school described the remarks as false, reckless and deeply offensive, stressing that they amount to an irresponsible generalisation that undermines the institution’s integrity and unfairly stigmatizes its students.
Management said the comments malign students, erode public confidence in the school and misrepresent the values and standards PRESEC has upheld for decades.
PRESEC, a Presbyterian mission institution, noted that it was founded on firm Christian principles and has, for more than 80 years, remained committed to academic excellence, discipline, leadership development and moral formation in line with the doctrines of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and the laws of the Republic.
The statement described any assertion to the contrary as a gross misrepresentation of the school’s identity and mission.
Management highlighted the school’s longstanding record of excellence, pointing to its contributions to national development through the training of men who have excelled in public service, science, business, faith and civic leadership.
According to the statement, PRESEC’s consistent successes, including strong performances at the National Science and Maths Quiz, reflect a culture of intellectual rigour, discipline, teamwork and responsibility, rather than the narrative being circulated.
The school further warned that such statements are not only inaccurate but harmful, as they expose students to ridicule, prejudice and emotional distress while attempting to damage the hard-earned reputation of an institution that has played a significant role in Ghana’s educational history.
Management thanked parents, alumni, students and the general public for their continued trust and support, assuring stakeholders of the school’s commitment to protecting the dignity of its students and upholding high standards of character and excellence.
The statement concluded that PRESEC will remain focused on its core mandate of delivering quality education, enforcing discipline, shaping character and preparing young men to become principled leaders and responsible citizens.
The statement was signed by the management of Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School, Legon.
