Six newly confirmed Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) were officially sworn into office today at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in Kumasi.
The ceremony was officiated by Ashanti regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene.
The appointees will serve the municipalities and districts of Kwadaso, Oforikrom, Old Tafo, Ofinso, Obuasi, and Sekyere Afram Plains.
During the swearing-in ceremony, the presiding official emphasized the importance of ethical leadership and dedication to public service. He reminded the new MMDCEs of the high standards outlined in the Code of Conduct issued by the Presidency, urging them to uphold integrity and diligence in their respective roles.
“I urge you to avoid procrastination, remain diligent, and serve with integrity,” he stated, charging the appointees to represent His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama with honour and unwavering commitment.
The ceremony marked a key milestone in the ongoing effort to strengthen local governance and improve administrative efficiency across the Ashanti Region.
The newly sworn-in MMDCEs are expected to immediately assume their duties and work towards advancing development in their jurisdictions.
