The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has disbursed GHS450.07 million to 251,576 pensioners for September 2024, with payments made on September 19.

This substantial payout encompasses pension benefits under both PNDC Law 247 and Act 766, reinforcing SSNIT’s dedication to supporting retirees across Ghana.

In its announcement, SSNIT revealed that the highest monthly pension under PNDC Law 247 reached GHS186,777.58, while the maximum pension under Act 766 was GHS26,509.66.

The lowest monthly pension for existing pensioners was GHS409.10, and new pensioners received a minimum of GHS300.00. This month marked a notable increase, with 996 more pensioners benefiting from the total disbursement compared to August.

Pensioners can conveniently access their benefits through their designated banks. SSNIT emphasiSed its ongoing commitment to providing financial security for retirees, urging workers to plan effectively for their retirement to maximize their benefits.

The next pension payment is set for October 17, 2024, as SSNIT continues to prioritise the financial well-being of Ghana’s retired workforce.
