Several parts of Kwahu have been thrown into darkness following a heavy downpour on Tuesday evening.
Information gathered by Agoo FM News indicates that the outage began around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
As of the time of filing this report (6:43 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026), power had not yet been restored to the affected areas.
The Eastern Regional Public Relations Officer of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Emmanuel Halm, speaking to Agoo FM News, assured customers that efforts are underway to restore power as soon as possible.
The outage has been linked to a faulty cable at the ECG substation in Mpraeso, which has affected several communities including Mpraeso, Nkwatia, Abetifi, Asakraka, Kwahu Tafo, and surrounding areas.
Residents are hopeful for a swift restoration of electricity, especially as preparations intensify ahead of the Kwahu Easter festivities.
