The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has released the list of shortlisted applicants for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) positions in the Ashanti Region.
The announcement, made in a statement signed by Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Regional Secretary of the NDC, follows an extensive vetting process for the prospective candidates.
The statement expressed gratitude to all applicants for their participation in the vetting process, acknowledging their dedication to national service.
It emphasized that only one candidate from the shortlisted applicants will ultimately be selected to serve as the Chief Executive Officer for each Metropolitan, Municipal, or District Assembly.
Applicants who did not make it to the shortlist were encouraged to remain optimistic, as other opportunities for national service would arise in the future.
Dr. Amoakohene commended all candidates for their commitment and extended best wishes to the shortlisted individuals as they move on to the next phase of the selection process.
The shortlisted candidates represent a diverse pool of professionals vying for positions in various districts across the Ashanti Region.
Other districts such as Kwabre East, Sekyere South, and Bekwai also featured strong lists of contenders.
The NDC’s selection process aims to identify leaders with the capacity to drive development and deliver effective governance at the local level.
The statement concluded with an assurance of fairness and transparency as the party prepares to finalize appointments for the various assemblies.
It reiterated the NDC’s commitment to fostering strong leadership in the Ashanti Region to ensure progress and improved livelihoods for its residents.
This development marks a significant step in the party’s efforts to strengthen its strong presence and effectiveness in the strong hold of the New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
