Leading National Chairman aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Agyarko, has named Henry Quartey and Joseph Osei-Owusu as key figures to steer his campaign ahead of the party’s internal elections.
In a statement released on April 3, Agyarko announced Quartey as Campaign Manager and Osei-Owusu, popularly known as Joe Wise, as Senior Campaign Advisor. The appointments were unveiled during a meeting with campaign volunteers.
Quartey, a former Interior Minister and ex-Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central, brings experience in both national security and local governance. Osei-Owusu, a former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and former MP for Bekwai, is expected to provide strategic guidance.
According to the statement, the appointments signal Agyarko’s intention to run a grassroots-focused campaign, leveraging the pair’s experience in political mobilization and party organization. The campaign team believes their combined expertise in legislative affairs and internal party dynamics will provide a strategic advantage.
The statement added that both Quartey and Osei-Owusu have endorsed Agyarko’s vision to “rebuild, restructure, and rebrand” the NPP ahead of the 2028 general elections, where the party aims to secure victory for Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
Agyarko’s campaign said a full national campaign team, including experts in research, communications, and operations, will be announced in due course.
The statement was signed by campaign spokesperson Vincent Frimpong Manu.
