Despite threats to his life, ace investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni of The Fourth Estate has shared his motivation for doing journalism.
According to him, love, loyalty, and devotion to his country are the main sources of his motivation in journalism.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray, Mr. Awuni stated at a point in time, he decided to quit journalism but couldn’t stop because of anger and outrage in things happening in the country.
“There have been occasions I even ask myself ‘it is worth it’. But sometimes you see certain things and you get so angry and outraged about it.
“My family wanted me to quit journalism after the very first investigations. Somebody told my father that they are doing it, ‘but your son, the kind of people he is going after and people know him
“…there was a day my wife was weeping and saying ‘I am too young to be a widow.’ No matter how strong you are it will hit you. That was in the morning and she was crying”, the Ace investigative journalist revealed.
