The Assinman Nursing and Midwifery Training College has dismissed 23 students due to poor academic performance, according to college authorities.
The college’s principal, Mrs. Ophelia Nkrumah, explained that many of the affected students had been given three consecutive opportunities to improve their performance but failed to meet the required academic standards.
“If a nurse makes a mistake, it could cost an innocent life. The consequences are too serious to compromise on quality in nursing training,” Mrs. Nkrumah emphasized.
She also advised parents to consider their children’s genuine interests before enrolling them in nursing training programs, urging them not to push their children into the profession against their wishes.
The dismissals highlight the college’s commitment to maintaining high standards in nursing education.
