Rev. Father Peter Kusi Twumasi, Acting Rector of St. Stephen Rectorate at Bodomase, in the Ashanti Region, has issued an unqualified apology after leading his congregation in singing King Paluta’s secular song “Aseda” during a church service.
In a viral social media video, many members of the congregation were seen joyfully singing along with the priest, which has sparked mixed reactions among the public.
The public accused the Catholic priest of leading his congregation to sing what they descried as ‘ungodly song’ in the house of God question the kid of priest the church has been producing to lead their congregations.
Father Twumasi in his reaction to the public anger admitted that he was carried away in the moment and allowed a secular song to enter the sacred space of the church. He emphasized that he had no intention of disrespecting the traditions and sacredness of the Catholic Church.
