The Trasacco Group of Companies has strongly condemned what it terms an unlawful demolition of property at its Tema Springs Development, located along the Accra-Tema Motorway.

The incident, which occurred last week, involved the destruction of fence walls and other infrastructure belonging to the company and its clients by an unidentified group.

At a media briefing in Accra, the company’s Corporate Affairs and Legal Director, Kwame Owusu Danso Esq., confirmed the attack and the damages inflicted on the company’s properties. He mentioned that calm has since been restored at the site due to police deployment during the incident. The company emphasized the seriousness of the situation and expressed full confidence in the Ghana Police Service to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Police Pursuing Suspects

Kwame Owusu Danso, the Corporate Affairs and Legal Director of Trasacco, said that the Ghana Police Service is making good progress in its investigation. They have identified several suspects and are questioning them about the recent attack and demolition. Some suspects are on the run, and the police are actively trying to find them.

“We strongly condemn these criminal acts. We are fully cooperating with the police and other security agencies to ensure justice and protect our clients’ investments,” said Mr. Danso. He urged affected clients to stay calm and assured them that justice would be served.

Alleged Links to Government and Chief Imam Rejected

During a recent demolition project, a group reportedly claimed that they were acting under directives from the government and the Office of the National Chief Imam. These claims, however, have been firmly rejected by one of the entities while one is yet to respond.

In their response, the Office of the National Chief Imam issued a clear statement emphasizing that no such directive had ever been given. They explicitly distanced His Eminence Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu from any involvement in the demolition, stressing that he had no ties to the actions taken by the group.

In an effort to clarify the situation further, Trasacco, the company involved in the demolition, has reached out to the Presidency to inquire about the rumoured participation of military personnel in the incident. As of now, Trasacco is still waiting for an official response from the Presidency regarding the matter.

Trasacco Outlines Legal Ownership

During the media briefing, Kwame Owusu Danso, Esq., provided a detailed account of the legal status of the Tema Springs Development. He assured attendees that the development is established on land that has been acquired through proper legal channels. Specifically, he explained that the property in question spans 270.1 acres and was obtained from the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) back in 2004. The lease for the land was officially executed on November 29, 2012, solidifying the ownership rights.

Kwame highlighted the commitment of the development team, stating, “For over a decade, we have been dedicated to lawfully transforming this area into a secure and tranquil environment for our residents. Throughout this time, we have prioritised the establishment of community infrastructure, ensuring that schools and other essential facilities are fully operational to meet the needs of the community.” His remarks underscored the ongoing efforts to create a thriving residential neighbourhood in Tema Springs.

Assurance to Homeowners and Investors

Trasacco wants to reassure homeowners, clients, and potential investors that their interests are a top priority. The company is committed to providing high-quality serviced plots and maintaining the Tema Springs estate as a safe and secure environment.

“We ask everyone involved to stay calm and let the legal process unfold,” Mr. Danso said. “The rule of law must be followed, and no one is above it.”

The company also asks the public and its clients to ignore any false information about the ownership and legitimacy of the land. It encourages all stakeholders to stay involved and continue working with Trasacco confidently.

A Trusted Brand in Ghana’s Real Estate Landscape

Trasacco Estates Development Company Limited operates as a prominent subsidiary of the Trasacco Group, a well-established Ghanaian conglomerate with an impressive track record spanning over 25 years in the property development sector.
