Dennis Kwakwa, the former Ashanti Regional Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), narrowly escaped a near-fatal road accident on the Konongo-Ejisu highway on Wednesday afternoon.
Mr. Kwakwa, along with two others, was part of the Ashanti Regional Chairman’s convoy returning from a campaign event in the Asante Akim South Constituency when the accident occurred.
According to reports, all three victims were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for treatment.
Fortunately, thanks to the swift intervention of Prof. Otchere Addai Mensah, the CEO of KATH, Kwakwa has been discharged from the hospital.
He is said to be in stable condition and recovering well.
George Opoku Amponsah, spokesperson for Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, confirmed the news, stating that Kwakwa is in sound health by God’s grace.
The two other passengers involved in the accident are also responding well to treatment.
“We thank God for their lives and urge everyone to keep them in their prayers as they continue to recover,” Amponsah stated.
The incident has caused concern within the NPP, but party members have expressed relief that the accident did not result in serious injuries.
