Deputy Minister for Defence Ernest Brogya Genfi on Tuesday welcomed a high-level delegation from the United Kingdom at Black Star Square, aimed at deepening defence and security cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation was led by Ben Merrick, UK Director of Defence and Security at the Ministry of Defence, and Air Vice Marshal Mark Flewin, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff (Military Strategy).
Also present were the UK Defence Attaché to Ghana and senior staff from the UK High Commission.
According to the Deputy Minister, the visit provided an opportunity for formal introductions between the UK officials, the Ministry of Defence, and their Ghanaian counterparts.
Discussions also focused on strengthening collaboration on defence strategy, not only at the bilateral level but across the wider West African sub-region.
“We look forward to strengthening our shared commitment to peace, security, and strategic cooperation,” Mr. Genfi noted in a statement posted on his Facebook page.
The engagement marks the latest step in ongoing efforts to boost Ghana-UK defence relations, particularly in addressing regional security challenges.
