The Ashanti Sub-trasmission team of ECG has conducted comprehensive ‘pro bono’ maintenance works on a KNUST substation, which had not seen any major maintenance in over four decades.

The service, which took place near the School’s Unity Hall, also included a battery and a rectifier from ECG to enhance the protection, control, and indication systems of the substation.

Speaking with the Director of Maintenance of the institution, the General Manager of Ashanti Sub-transmission, Ing. Peter Fletcher, assured her that this was merely the beginning of the positive initiatives ECG has planned for the the school.

“As corporate citizen, ECG has realized that about 85% of of it engineers and non-engineers are being trained by the institution.”
Meanwhile, the Ashanti East and South line maintenance teams seized the opportunity during the downtime to fortify the network leading to the sub-station station, repairing and reinforcing all the jumpers on the line.
