The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, from office following the circulation of a viral video allegedly showing him in a compromising situation with a female student.
In a statement issued on Monday, the GES said it views the matter with the “utmost seriousness” and has prohibited Mr. Aidoo from accessing the school while investigations are underway.
“Management remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of the teaching profession and ensuring the safety and welfare of students under our care,” the release stated.
The GES assured parents, stakeholders, and the general public that due process would be followed, with appropriate disciplinary measures taken in accordance with its code of conduct.
The Service further emphasized its commitment to professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all schools. “We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of students,” the statement read.
The case has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with renewed calls for stricter enforcement of child protection policies in schools.
