The Ghana Armed Forces has completed the selection of 2,000 recruits for the first of four training batches, with successful applicants expected to report to designated centers nationwide today Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
According to a press release issued by the military’s Department of Public Relations, the recruits will receive their appointment letters and prospectuses at various selection centers across all 16 regions at 9:00 a.m.
The Armed Forces also encouraged applicants who were deferred due to treatable medical conditions to seek care, assuring them they will be reconsidered at a later date at no additional cost.
The statement noted that 18 of the selected recruits were individuals injured during last year’s El-Wak Stadium stampede, while five others were sponsored by families of victims who died in the incident.
The military expressed appreciation to regional administrations for supporting a decentralized recruitment process, which brought selection activities closer to applicants in line with a government directive.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces urged remaining applicants to stay calm as the selection process continues for subsequent batches. It added that a pool of high-performing candidates from the aptitude tests will be considered for future recruitment exercises beyond this year.
The statement further indicated that a proposal to facilitate recruitment for residents of Sikaman in the Ashanti Region—who assisted in a helicopter crash rescue operation last year—is under consideration for inclusion in the second training batch.
The release was signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations.
