The Chief Executive Officer of Rampa Farms and Trading Limited, Mr. Hermas Sibeko, has been honoured for his outstanding contributions to agribusiness and trade in Northern Ghana.
The recognition came at the Northern Ghana Business Merit Awards held on October 17, 2025, in Tamale.
The event, which celebrates excellence among enterprises and individuals in the Northern, North East, Savannah, Upper East, and Upper West Regions, recognized Mr. Sibeko and his company for their consistency, innovation, and socio-economic impact in Ghana’s agricultural value chain. The award was presented by the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John Mburidiba, in front of an audience of distinguished entrepreneurs, policymakers, and development partners.
In an interview with KumasiMail after receiving the award, Mr. Sibeko described the recognition as both humbling and inspiring.
“This award means a lot to us because it recognizes not only what we have achieved, but also what we stand for,” he said. “At Rampa Farms and Trading Limited, we have always believed that true business success is not just about making money but about making a difference. We dedicate this award to the farmers, partners, and communities that continue to inspire our journey.”
Founded officially in 2014, Rampa Farms and Trading Limited has steadily grown into one of the most respected agribusinesses in Northern Ghana. The company initially emerged from a business restructuring process in 2012 when it shifted focus to the agricultural sector after identifying major challenges facing small, emerging, and medium-scale farmers.
Mr. Sibeko explained that many farmers in the north faced obstacles such as limited access to information, technology, and reliable supply chains, which made it difficult for them to compete effectively.
“When we started, our vision was simple,” he said. “We wanted to bridge the gap between farmers and the tools they needed to succeed. Whether it was access to inputs, equipment, or knowledge, we wanted to ensure that every farmer, regardless of size, could benefit from modern agricultural practices.”
Since then, Rampa Farms and Trading Limited has built strong partnerships and joint ventures that allow it to supply and deliver a wide range of agricultural products and services. The company provides farm inputs, machinery, livestock, feeds, seeds, and pharmaceuticals to emerging and established farmers alike.
