The Managing Director of the Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation (GIHOC), Maxwell Kofi Jumah, popularly known as ‘Kofi Ghana’ has warned employees that participating in Organized Labour’s nationwide strike on October 10 will result in termination of employment.
“Any GIHOC worker who joins Organized Labour’s October 10th strike will be sacked. As the Managing Director of GIHOC, I will terminate the employment of anyone who participates”.
Mr. Jumah stated that the strike, called in response to illegal mining, does not affect GIHOC and that the company has rules in place to maintain order.
“This is a national concern not GIHOC issue”, he told OyerepaFM in an interview monitored by Kumasimail.
This call by the Managing Director comes at the time Organized Labour has declared a nationwide strike on October 10th in response against illegal menace.
Meanwhile, Ghana Medical Association, Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association and The Government and Hospital Pharmacist have all pledged their solidarity towards Organized Labour action but will not join the nationwide strike.
