The Inspector-General of Police(IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has dispatched a special investigations team to Kumasi to support ongoing inquiries into the mysterious death of a Senegalese national, Cheith Toure.
The team, made up of homicide detectives, forensic experts and intelligence officers, is expected to work closely with the Ashanti Regional Police Command to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Toure was pronounced dead on arrival and his body was later deposited at the Ebenezer Mortuary at Tafo, Kumasi.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of a comprehensive and transparent investigation to establish the exact cause of death and ensure accountability.
“We would like to assure the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to unravel the case and any perpetrators brought to justice,” the Police stated.
The body has since been preserved at the Ebenezer Mortuary in Tafo, Kumasi, as investigations continue.
