The Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak, has commissioned the Bono Regional Command of the National Signals Bureau (NSB) in Sunyani as part of government efforts to strengthen national security.
The new command is expected to serve as a hub for signals and intelligence gathering, providing real-time and actionable intelligence to support security agencies in addressing emerging and existing security threats in the region.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Interior Minister said the facility will enhance the capacity of security agencies to combat crimes such as armed robbery, cybercrime, chieftaincy disputes, farmer–herder conflicts and cross-border smuggling in the Bono Region.

Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak reaffirmed government’s commitment to safeguarding peace and security across the country and urged residents to support the work of the National Signals Bureau.
“Securing peace is a shared responsibility,” he said, calling on the public to cooperate with security agencies to ensure a safer environment for all.
The commissioning of the facility was welcomed by traditional authorities and the Bono Regional Minister, who described it as a landmark step toward strengthening Ghana’s security architecture.
They expressed optimism that the presence of the NSB command in the region would improve intelligence coordination and contribute significantly to maintaining peace and stability.
The National Signals Bureau plays a key role in Ghana’s intelligence framework, supporting national security operations through advanced communications and intelligence systems.
