The member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency Alhaji Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, who doubles as the Minister for the Interior, has cut the sod for the construction of a new polyclinic at Ayigya Zongo in the Oforikrom Municipality.
The project, which is funded by Qatar Charity, is expected to improve access to healthcare for residents of Ayigya and surrounding communities when completed.

The sod-cutting ceremony, held on Friday 13th March 2026 afternoon, was attended by the Municipal Chief Executive for Oforikrom, Anwel Sadat, as well as the Municipal Chief Executives for the Asokore Mampong Municipality and the Tafo Municipality.
Speaking at the event, the Interior Minister urged Ghanaians to keep President John Dramani Mahama and his appointees in their prayers as they work to address the country’s challenges.

He also appealed to the public to exercise patience with the government, noting that efforts are underway to correct what he described as the “wrongs of the past eight years.”
According to the Interior Minister, President Mahama remains committed to fulfilling the promises made during the election campaign and is working hard to improve the country’s economic situation.

The Asawase MP expressed confidence that the government’s policies are beginning to put the country on the right path, adding that the administration is taking steps to address economic difficulties inherited from the previous government.

The Ayigya Zongo polyclinic is expected to enhance healthcare delivery in the area by providing accessible medical services to residents and reducing pressure on existing health facilities in nearby communities.
