The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has directed all persons operating temporary structures, signages, and billboards along the Santasi Roundabout to Ahodwo Roundabout stretch to remove them by the end of November 2025.
In a public announcement issued on October 14, 2025, the Assembly stated that all wooden and metallic kiosks or shops around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium must be cleared within 21 days from the date of the notice.
Similarly, all billboards and signages along the designated corridor are to be taken down by November 30, 2025.
The directive also affects artisans, mechanics, taxi operators, and traders operating in and around the Santasi Roundabout and Taxi Station towards the TUC area.
They have been reminded to voluntarily vacate the area by October 30, 2025, in line with an earlier evacuation notice issued by the Assembly on September 24, 2025.
According to the KMA, these measures are part of preparations for the construction of a dual carriage road linking Santasi and Ahodwo Roundabouts to the Asokwa Interchange.
The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the Government of Ghana and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The Assembly emphasized that the directive is necessary to ensure a smooth and timely execution of the road project and urged all affected individuals and the general public to comply fully.
KMA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining order and supporting developmental projects aimed at improving the city’s infrastructure.
