The management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has interdicted two medical doctors and two nurses over their alleged failure to provide emergency medical care to a hit-and-run victim.
In a statement issued on Monday, the hospital said the staff members had been suspended in accordance with established administrative procedures, pending investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident and the subsequent death of the victim.
Management said a committee has been constituted to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter to ensure a fair and transparent process.
“The Board and Management call on all persons connected to the matter to cooperate fully with the committee to ensure a fair and transparent inquiry,” the statement said.
The hospital reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and the delivery of quality healthcare services, adding that further information would be communicated upon completion of the investigation.
