The Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has revealed the allocation of Seed Money for the Construction of National Cathedral totaling Ghc225,962,500.00.
This follows an investigation into allegations of corruption and abuse of power concerning the controversial National Cathedral project.
The findings were detailed in a report dated November 22, 2024, which stemmed from complaints by North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
This funding has been distributed across five key areas, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and project implementation.

- Site Preparation: Ghc5,130,988.72 was spent on site preparation, comprising six distinct components. This investment lays the groundwork for future projects and initiatives.

- Dept of Parks & Garden (cutting and pruning of trees) cost Ghc320,000.00
- Interplast ltd (distribution of pipes for sewage work) cost Ghc 2,207,148.14
- ABP Consult Ltd (additional Sewage works) cost Ghc82,646.50
- Dept. of Parks & Garden (Trees relocation, pruning and preservation) cost Ghc 320,000.00
- Underground HDPE Pipes cost Ghc 2,063,304.78
- Construction Mobilisation: A significant Ghc157,454,517.00 was allocated for construction mobilization, encompassing five key components.
This substantial investment underscores the trustee’s commitment to infrastructure development.

- RIBADE Limited (Advance payment) was paid Ghc71,456,250.00
- RIBADE Limited (Issuance of LOA) was paid Ghc 58,386,500.00
- Final negotiations with General Contractors was paid Ghc11,767.00
- Part Payment to RIBADE Limited was paid Ghc25,000,000.00
- JNS Talent Center Ltd was paid Ghc 2,600,000.00
- Fund Raising Activities: Ghc794,990.01 was spent on fund-raising activities, essential for securing resources to support the trustee’s mandate.
- Consultancy: The National Cathedral Secretariet engaged consultants at a cost of Ghc61,791,159.00, leveraging expert knowledge to inform strategic decision-making.
- Symposiums: The National Cathedral Secretariet Board held two major symposiums at Kempski Goldcoast, incurring costs of Ghc798,845.27.
