The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) on Tuesday launched a co-creation workshop aimed at developing a practical implementation plan for student entrepreneurs under the government’s Adwumawura Programme.
The workshop, organized as part of the Student Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED) initiative, brought together key stakeholders from academia, innovation hubs, student leadership groups, development partners and government agencies.

Representatives from the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment and the National Youth Authority also participated.
According to NEIP Chief Executive Officer Eric Adjei, the engagement is designed to ensure that all relevant stakeholders contribute to shaping a workable and results-oriented framework for the SEED initiative.

“The objective of the co-creation workshop is to bring stakeholders together to jointly design a practical implementation plan for the Student Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development initiative,” Mr. Adjei said. “This will ensure that student entrepreneurs are empowered to conceptualize, upscale and sustain innovative businesses while they are still in school.”

The SEED initiative is a key component of the Adwumawura Programme, which focuses on promoting entrepreneurship and job creation among young people.
Through the initiative, NEIP aims to create structured pathways for students in tertiary institutions to transform business ideas into viable enterprises.
Mr. Adjei emphasized that collaboration remains central to building a strong and sustainable youth entrepreneurship ecosystem in Ghana.
He noted that by aligning stakeholders and resources, NEIP intends to convert innovative ideas into actionable programmes that generate meaningful opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

The co-creation workshop forms part of NEIP’s broader strategy to strengthen institutional partnerships and enhance support systems for the next generation of Ghanaian innovators.
